{"id":557,"date":"2014-04-29T19:15:22","date_gmt":"2014-04-29T19:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.iransos.com\/en\/?p=557"},"modified":"2014-04-29T19:15:22","modified_gmt":"2014-04-29T19:15:22","slug":"detained-opposition-leader-mousavi-rushed-to-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iransos.com\/en\/?p=557","title":{"rendered":"Detained Opposition Leader Mousavi Rushed to Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 196px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/iransos.com\/en\/photo\/2011\/m\/mosavi.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"186\" height=\"279\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mir Hossein Mousavi<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">April 29, 2014&#8211;Former presidential candidate and opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi, who has been held extra-judicially under house arrest for more than three years, was taken to hospital today for urgent heart complications, according to reports from Iran that the Campaign has independently confirmed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->Mousavi, 72, who suffers from cardiac problems, was transferred to Tehran&#8217;s Heart Hospital&#8217;s intensive care unit surrounded by heavy security. Doctors say Mousavi needs to undergo a heart angioplasty procedure.<br \/>\n\u201cMousavi\u2019s life is now being endangered by his continued detention,\u201d said Campaign Executive Director Hadi Ghaemi. \u201cThe Iranian government and judiciary is demonstrating complete contempt for the rule of law; it must release Mousavi and the other opposition leaders immediately.\u201d<br \/>\nAccording to\u00a0kalame.com, an opposition news website close to Mousavi, doctors had demanded urgent treatment for Mousavi several months ago but security officials refused to allow it.<br \/>\nAbout two months ago Mousavi underwent tests after he showed signs of irregular blood pressure and nausea but security officials have not released the results of the tests to his family.<br \/>\n\u201cThe routine denial of medical treatment for political prisoners is a blatant violation of Iranian and international law.
