Since 29.07.06 Ahmad Batebi Indefinite hunger strike at prison in Teheran

University student Ahmad Batebi was first arrested in July 1999 as a result of suppression of students” peaceful demonstration at Teheran University. He consequently received death sentence in a summary trial but domestic and international pressure constrained authorities to reduce his sentence to 15 years. He was recently detained again after a short period of medical leave and went into an indefinite “Hunger Strike”, ever since.

Let´s not forget, Akbar Mohammadi. Student activist who died suspiciously on July 30th following 10 days “Hunger Strike” was in similar situation.

Batebi too, was subject to brutal treatments, biting and had been denied medical treatment.

Immediate Creation and expedition of an international forensic commission to visit Iranian prison is the only way to save the lives of political prisoners.
