In this report a little part of the human rights violations instances in Iran has been compiled

Student News

1) The expulsion sentence of Piman Aref the master student of the Tehran University issued by the selection commission of the science ministry was nullified by the justice administrative tribunal .But his entrance to the university was forbidden by the university head order. (Student committee of human right reporters - SCHRR.2007.Apr.12)

2) Bijan Sabagh member of the mazandaran university student Islamic Association was arrested by the private security guards. This university’s students are in food strike, demanding for:

3) Making release of Bijan Sabagh, nullifying the education deprivation sentences, not to summon students to the disciplinary committees regularly, giving permission for restarting the student’s formations. (Ilna.Apr.14)

Student: arrested

4) Mohammad Reza Azmand the History master student was arrested in Kermanshah Province by the security guards for having political activities. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.14)

5) Kamal Barzi and Arsalan Azmandian the civil students of the Tabriz Azad University were arrested by the Maragheh province security guards. (Hagh Weblog.2007.Apr.13)

6) After arrestment of Bijan Sabagh, member of the mazandaran university student Islamic Association, the students were gathered for objection .The security guards had attacked them and arrested 15 students named as follow:

Saeed Yaghoobi Nejad, Amid Sharif Zadeh ,Mehdi Sharif Alnabi, Ziya Nabavi, Ali Taghi Poor ,AliReza Kelarastaghi Nejad, Javad Mirshafie ,Homan Sharifi ,Ramin Ajorloo ,Siyavash Salimi,Ali Kiyai and Nejat Alaah Afshar.(Ilna.2007.Apr.16)

7) These students were arrested by the university head and public prosecutor complaint. Five of them were released on 50,000$ bail and nine were released with guaranty .The released student do not have the permission to enter university or dormitory Zia Nabavi is in detention yet. 8) Three students of Mazandaran University were arrested temporary by the security guards. (Ilna.2007.Apr.17)

Student: Summoned and interrogated in courts

9) Three students of the Birjand University were summoned to the disciplinary committee. (Isna.2007.Apr.10)

10) Zahra Safari,Najmeh Noor Bakhsh,Vahab Nadimi and Mohsen Ebrahimi the Mlayer university students were summoned to the disciplinary committee for participating a student objection.(Isna.2007.Apr.11)

11) Sara Khademi, Arash Pakzad,Nima Bateni, Hadis Zaher, Milad Moini, Hamed Mohamadi and Sadegh Hakimzadeh the Mazandaran university were summoned to the disciplinary committee for participating student .day gathering.(Advar news 2007.Apr.14)

12) Ali niko Nesbati ,member of the Daftar-e- Tahkim Vahdat central council was summoned to the Sabzevar public court for interrogation. (Ilna. 2007. Apr.14)

13) Massod Kheirati, spokesman of the Shiraz university student Islamic Association was summoned to the disciplinary committee. (Ilna.2007.Apr.17)

14) Hammed Iranshhi, the student activist was summoned to the Arak province public court branch no.101 with the charge of insulting authorities and attempting against the national security. (Isna.2007.Apr.17)

15) Mohammad Hashemi, member of the Daftar-e- Tahkim Vahdat central council was summoned to the Sabzevar public court. (Ilna. 2007. Apr.14)

Student: education deprivation

16) Farokh moradi the Law student of the Tehran university was sent out and was deprived of continuing education.Himan Ahadi Azar the industrial instrument student was deprived of studying in Tabatabai university. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.16)

Students: issued sentences

17) Rahim Husseini the Yazd university student and editor in charge of the Bayan-e-Azad magazine was sentenced to one semester education deprivation. He was charged with participating in a student gathering and objecting the university trade union situation. (Isna.2007.Apr.10)

18) Saeed Yaghoobi Nejad, Bijan Sabagh and Ziya Nabavi the Mazandaran university students were sentenced to one semester education deprivation in revision meeting of the disciplinary committee.(Isna.2007.Apr.10)

19) Yousef Mohammadi and Moslem Ebrahimi the Birjand university students were sentenced to one semester education deprivation for disturbing university order. (Isna.2007.Apr.10)

20) Babak Zamaniyan, member of Amir Kabir university student Islamic Association was sentenced to two semester’s education deprivation. His entrance to the university is forbidden. He was charged with managing a celebration for the beginning of the new educational semester in university precinct. (Ilna.2007.Apr.13)

Bans on student publications:

21) The publication permit of the “Foroogh” magazine with the editor in charge of Mohammad Reza Tajfirooz was nullified by the supervisory committee on students’ publication in Ardebil University. (Isna.2007.Apr.11)

Preventions on student formation:

22) The supervisory committee on students’ formations had nullified the activity permission of “Islamic Association of Zanjan university students”. (Ilna.2007.Apr.9)

The Press and Journalists:

23) The journalist’s trade union had made a report of the press and journalists situation in 2005-2006:

The banned dailies: 4 cases.

The banned weekly or monthly magazines: 20 cases

Permit nullification on weeklies: 16 cases

Journalists in detention during the New Year’s vacations: 7 cases

Journalists in detention from some days to some months: 50 cases

Journalists summoned or interrogated: 46 cases

It is mentioned in this report that the Kurdish journalists were under more pressures and detentions during 2005-2006.Safar Harandi the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance head had mentioned several times that press can prevent these summoning by censoring themselves and reporting their affairs to them (journalists’ trade union.2007.Mar.29)

Journalists: arrested

24) Abolfazl Abedini the former correspondent of the “Asr-e-Karoon” magazine was arrested by the security guards. He was in detention in 2005 for five months and was released on bail. . (Human right Activists’ n Iran.2007.Apr.8)

25) The exit of Nazi Azima the Azadii Radio reporter who was in Iran for visiting her family is prohibited from the borders. The security authorities had asked her to cooperate with the security services in Iran. (Farda Radio.2007.Apr.14)

Journalists Summoned to Court

26) The editors in charge of the magazines ‘Tehran-e-Emrooz’, ‘Tak’, ,’Abadi’,and ‘Anisheh Varzesh’were summoned to the branch no.76 of the Tehran penal court for interrogation. (Isna.2007.Apr.3)

27) Ejlal Ghavami, Toniya Kaboodvand and Kaveh Hussein Panah the members of the ‘Payam-e mardom-e-Kurdistan” editorial staffs were summoned to the branch no.1of the Sanandaj legal court. They were charged with publishing lies. (Ilna.2007.Apr.3)

28) Hooshmand Sefidi the editor in charge of the ‘Arman’magazine was summoned to the branch no.3 of the government employee court. He was charged with publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. (Isna.2007.Apr.4)

29) Borhan Lahvani the editor and Bahram Valad Beigi the secretary of the banned magazine ‘Ashti’, were summoned to the branch no.2 of the Kurdistan Penal court. They were charged with publishing lies. For disturbing public opinion and acting against the security of the state. (Ilna.2007.Apr.7)

30) Ali Saleh Abadi the editor in charge of ‘Hambastegi’ daily was summoned to the branch no.3 of the government employee court. He was charged with unknown reasons. (Ilna.2007.Apr.11)

Journalists trialed

31) Mohammad Reza Khatami the editor in charge of the banned magazine ‘Mosharekat’ was tried in Tehran’s Penal Court Branch 1083.He was charged with propaganda against the state, publishing lies and calumniating (Isna, 2007.Apr.8)

Sentences issued by courts

32) Elyas Hazrati the chief in charge, of daily ’Etemaad’, was tried at Branch 76 of Tehran’s Penal Court. He was charged with publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. He was sentenced to pay a $300 monetary fine. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.16)

Political, Cultural, Social Activists

33) The Ilna news agency’s reporter does not have the permission of attending Ahmadi Nejad’s news session. (Advar news.2007.Apr.4)

34) Hashemi, the secretary of the Iranian teachers’ organisation said: for each 6 members of the teachers’ trade union, a 30,000$ bail sentence is issued. And for each 3 members of Iranian teachers’ organisation a 50,000$ sentence is issued. By providing the bails they are released temporally. (Ilna.2007.Apr.4)

35) Gholam Hussein mohseni Ejei announced that women movements and student activities are known as overthrowing the regime. (Isna.2007.Apr.11)

36) The Mahabad Province public prosecutor did not issue the testimony of not having bad record for Shirko Jahani, member of Kurdistan human right defence. He was in jail three times for political reasons. Without this testimony he can not work in any work places. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.12)

37) Ayat Allah Hussein Ali Montazeri said: during last year some of his partisans, apprentices and relatives were summoned to the courts .Papers don’t have permission to publish his opinion. His scientific and religious books are affected with difficulties for publishing. His properties are in security guards possession and are not refunded after years. (Rooz.2007.Apr.16)

38) Some Sanandaj teachers, who were participating in a gathering, were summoned to the security of the province training organisation. (Mukerian web log.2007.Apr.9)

39) The security guards had inspected houses of mahmood Bagheri, safar montajebi and Mohammad Reza Rezai, members of the Tehran teachers trade union and asked them to introduce themselves to the revolutionary court for interrogation. (Etemad.2007.Apr.10)

40) Koroosh Zaeem, member of the Iranian National fraction central council was summoned to the branch 14 of the Tehran revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against the national security. (Isna.2007.Apr.18)

41) Mostafa Daneshjoo the attorney of the gonabadi dervishes, was interrogated in Karaj provine, branch 11 and was released on 3,000$ bail. (Ilna.2007.Apr.7)

42) Fatemeh Haghighatjoo, Tehran representative in sixth Islamic Assembly was tried in her absence in branch no.76 of the Tehran penal court. She was charged with insulting, calumniating and publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. (Ilna.2007.Apr.10)

43) Mostafa Tajzadeh,the political secretary of the state ministry in Khatami’s cabinet, was tried in branch no.1083 of the Tehran public court. He was charged with insulting, calumniating and publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. (Ilna.2007.Apr.15)

44) Edris khalighi the mahabad province cultural activist was arrested by security guards. (Mukerian Web Log.2007.Apr.2)

45) The Security minister announced that they have arrested a group planed disturbing public order and national security. (Isna.2007.Apr.7)

46) Kiomars mohammadi 25 and nader mohammadi 28 were arrested 40 days ago in Sanandaj province by the security guards. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK.2007.Mar.28)

47) 45 active teachers in hamedan Province Teachers Organization were arrested by security guards. The arrested teachers’ names are as follow:

Nader Ghadimi, Zarei ,Najafi, Foroozanfar, Jaliliyan, Refahiyat ,naderi, Pirtaj, Jabari, Azmand and Gholami. The related families demand for their freedom in a gathering. (Advar News.2007.Apr.9)

48) Akbar Abedi said: in last few days, the security guards have arrested 39 teachers who were gathered in Teachers trade union organisation in Hamedan Province. (Ilna.2007.Apr.11)

49) Mansoor Faghihi who was arrested last year under the accusation of involving in a collision, now is facing a new accusation of ‘Having collaboration with opposed parties. He is transported to an unknown place from the mahabad province prison by the security guards. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.14)

50) Ali Akbar Baghbani ,the head secretary of the teachers ‘Trade Union Organisation was arrested in a school in Tehran.Hamid PoorVosogh ,Mahmood Bagheri, mohammad Taghi Falahi,Ali Asghar Montajebi ,Mohammad Reza Rezai and Ali Akbar Nabi, the other members were also arrested and were transported to Evin Prison. A teacher in Karaj Province was summoned to the court. The other teachers in west part of the country and Isam shahr Province in 15-16 April had participated in strike for supporting these teachers. 51) Mohammad Shafi Khanzadeh, 16 years old, was arrested in Oshnoyeh province .he was charged with having political activities. (Human Right Activists in Iran.2007.Apr.19)

52) Mehdi Baghban Bafroui, , Amir Baghban Bafroui, the Karaj University students, Mohammad Jafari, Reza Heidari and Yousef Esfandiyari ,the members of “National Union Party” were arrested by Shadash province security guards.( Human Right Activists in Iran.2007.Apr.19)

53) Yaghob Yad Aliwriter of the books :’Adab-e-bigharari’ , ‘Halatha dar Hayat’ and ‘ Ehtemal-e- Parseh va Shokhi’ is in detention for more than one month .He is charged with insulting, calumniating and publishing lies for disturbing public opinion.(Isna.2007.Apr.20)

54) Kaveh Hampoosh, student and member of ‘Kavian organisation’ was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment in Tehran Revolutionary Court Branch no.6. (Political Prisoners Assosiation.2007.Mar.21)

55) Ziynab Bayzidi, member of the Kurdistan human right defence was sentenced to 6 months suspended imprisonment in Mahabad Revolutionary Court Branch no.2.She was charged with publishing lies, propaganda against the state. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.14)

56) Soran Mehr Shad, Adnan Ahmadi, Mohammad Ali Mohammadi, Poriya Delpasand and Fayegh Zolfaghari were sentenced to imprisonment with the charge of having political activities. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.1)

57) Aram Nosratpoor,Jahandar Mohammadi, Mokhtar Mohammadi, Jahanbakhsh Mohammadi and Jahangir Mohammadi were sentenced to imprisonment in Sanandaj province. Their issued sentences are as follow: 7, 16, 5, 5 and 3 years of imprisonments. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.6)

58) Fariborz Ghafari, was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment in Sanandaj province court. He was charged with having political activities. He is in detention from February. Also Kamal Habibi is in detention for more than 50 days. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.7)

59) Mansoor Jadi zadeh was sentenced to2 years suspension imprisonment in branch no.2 of the Ahvaz province revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against the national security and having relation with the opposed parties. (Ilna.2007.Apr.8)

60) Saeed Soleimani, 25, member of a Kurd group, disagreeing with Islamic Republic of Iran was sentenced to 33 years imprisonment and exiling to Semnan province jail. He was arrested 3 months ago and after issuing the sentence he is transported to Semnan jail. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.12)

61) Ghasem Sholeh Sadi, the attorney was sentenced to one and a half years imprisonment in Tehran revision court, branch no.21.he was charged with propaganda against the state and insulting. (Ilna.2007.Apr.15)

62) Jafar Gholikanlo and Heidar Gholikhanlo, the Mako province inhabitancies were sentenced to 6 months imprisonments for disturbing the security. Five other were arrested by security guards for having relations with Kurd parties. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.17)

Political Prisoners

63) Mohammad saleh Husseini, 70 years old, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in Sanandaj revolutionary court. He is in detention for 7 years. It should be mentioned that his son Fereidon Husseini was executed during political activists’ massacre in Evin prison in 1998. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Mar.26)

64) Yaser Ebrahimi , was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in Kermanshah province revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against the national security. He is in detention for last 2 years. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.7)

65) Hashem Shahin Niya, political prisoner of the Evin prison is in food strike objecting the fact of disregarding the element of separating the crimes and criminals in prisons. He is sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for having relation with Mojahedin organisations. (Student Committee of Human Right Reporters.- SCHRR.2007.Apr.2)

66) Kaveh Javanmard ,the journalist of the banned magazine ‘Karafto’ who was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for acting against the security of the state, now with his new accusation of cooperating with the opposed parties and fighting against the state, will be tried in Sanandaj province .( Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.2)

67) Fahimeh Esmaili,was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in Ahwaz Province revolutionary court. She was charged with not introducing her husband who is accused for the Ahvaz bombard case, to the court. (Ilna.2007.Apr.4)

68) A.SH was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for revealing the secrets, propaganda against the state and publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. (Ilna.2007.Apr.4)

69) Hadi hamidi, the Tabriz university student is in detention in west Azerbaijan province security office from June 2006. (Hagh Web Log.2007.Apr.5)

70) Adnan Hasanpoor,member of the editorial staff of the banned magazine ‘Asoo’ and Mansoor Tifori ,member of the journalists organisation were transported to marivan jail from the Sanandaj province security office. (Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.8)

71) Khaled Hardani is in food strike in Tehran Rajai Shahr prison. (Isna.2007.Apr.11)

72) Ayat Allah Mohammad Kazemini Borojerdi, AliReza Montazer Saheb, Majid Alasti, Ali Deh Hijdah and Habib Ghovati, are under physical and mental tortures in prison, without having attorney. (Bam Azadi, Web log. 2007. Apr.11)

73) Khaled Sheikhzadeh, the Mahabad Province inhabitants was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment. Now he is in detention for 11 years and 3 months. ( Kurdistan’s Human Rights Organization - RMMK. 2007.Apr.12)

74) Sohrab Soleimani, the head maneger of the Tehran prisons said: Mahmmod Bagheri, Ali Asgar Montajebi and Mohammad Taghi Falahi the members of the teachers’ trade union, who were accused of gathering in front of the Islamic Assembly are visiting prohibited. (Isna.2007.Apr.17)

75) Sara Aminian and her husband,Nahid keshavarz, Mahbobeh Hussein zadeh and Saeedeh amin, who were gathered in laleh park for collecting signatures for fighting against the women discrimination, were arrested by the security guards.(Ilna.2007.Apr.2)

76) Delaram Ali, the women movement activist who was arrested during June 2006 gathering in Tehran, was summoned to the branch no.15 of the Tehran revolutionary court. She was charged with acting against the security of the state. (Ilna.2007.Apr.9)

77) Zeynab Peighanbarzadeh , Nahid jafari, Farnaz Seifi, Sara Loghmani, Jelveh Javaheri and Jhila Bani Arab the women movement activists were summoned to the Tehran revolutionary court. They are treated to be arrested by the securities special guards. (Iranian women’s organisation. 2007. Apr.10)

86) Soosan Tahmaseb, the women movement activist who was arrested during June 2006 gathering, was sentenced to imprisonment, in branch no.6 of the revolutionary court. She was charged with acting against the national security. . (Ilna.2007.Apr.18)

87) Farda Davoodi the women movement activist, who was arrested during June 2006 gathering, was sentenced to imprisonment, in branch no.6 of the revolutionary court. She was charged with participating in an illegal gathering. . (Isna.2007.Apr.18)

88) Saghar Laghai, Saghi Laghai and Parastoo Dokoohi, the women movement activists who were arrested in February 2006 gathering in front of the revolutionary court, were interrogated. . (Isna Apr.9)

89) Maral Farokhi, the women movement activist who was arrested during May 8^th gathering in front of the Islamic Assembly, was interrogated. (Ilna.2007.Apr.13)

90) Azadeh Forghani, the women movement activist who was arrested in February 2006 gathering in front of the revolutionary court, was interrogated in branch no.14 of the court. . (Isna Apr.15)

91) Nahid keshavarz and Mahbobeh Hussein zadeh, who were arrested in laleh park, collecting signatures for fighting against the women discrimination, were released after 13 days on 20.000$ bail.(Ilna.2007.Apr.16)

92) Bahareh hedayat, member of the Daftar-e- Tahkim-e Vahdat central council, women commission maneger and secretary of the human right committee of this formation, who was arrested during June 2006 gathering, was tried in branch no.6 of the Tehran Revolutionary court. She was charged with acting against the national security, participating in an illegal gathering and disturbing public order. (Isna.2007.Apr.18)

Worker situation

94) 45 environment labours working in ‘Shahr Park ‘in Tehran province have not received their pays for a month. They get 150$ per month for working 9 hours a day and they don’t have any off days. (Ilna.2007.Apr.2)

95) 80 labours of Iran Ertebat Co. in Shahr Rey province have not received their pays for the past two months.” (Ilna, 2007.Apr.3)

96) Labours of Pooshesh Rasht Company have not received their pays for March. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.3)

97) More than 900 Labours working for 12 contractor company in Tabas province have not received their pays for a year. (Ilna 2007.Apr.3)

98) 100 labours of Mazandaran province ‘Farsh-e- Alborz’ industry have not received their pays for three months (Ilna, 2007.Apr.3)

99) More than 20 municipality labours in district 3, zone 11 of the Tehran province, have not received their pays for two months (Ilna, 2007.Apr.3)

100) 250 labours of Khuzestan Pipe Company have not received their pays for three months Also 500 formal workers of the company have not received their pays for a month. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.3)

101) The Tehran Chemical company is closed and 40 Labours of the company are unemployed. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.4)

102) The Kermanshah province mail office had fired 25 workers with 7 years experiences. (Ilna.2007.Apr.4)

103) 620 labours of the Sangrood Mine have not received their pays for March. The company owe them the pays for 17 months. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.4)

104) Some workers of the contractor companies in Tabriz Province were fired with 5 years experiences. They did not receive their pays. (Ilna.2007.Apr.4)

105) 16 labours of the Esfahan province municipality, have not received their pays for March. They work from 9 pm to 4 am, without any off days. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.4)

106) The Dezful province Cube Sugar Industry is closed for 3 years and its 200 workers are unemployed. The unlimited imports f sugar is the reason. (Ilna, 2007.Apr.4)
